📖Spiegazione
Say e tell
🗣️Say (something): He said (that) he was tired. Tell (somebody) something: He told me (that) he was tired. Non si dice “said me”!
Il backshift
⏪Se il verbo introduttivo è al passato, i tempi “scalano” indietro: present simple → past simple; present continuous → past continuous; past simple / present perfect → past perfect; will → would; can → could; must → had to.
🔄Cambiano anche pronomi, possessivi ed espressioni di tempo e luogo: now → then; today → that day; yesterday → the day before; tomorrow → the next day; here → there; this → that.
Domande riportate
❓Domande sì/no: if / whether (Do you like it? → she asked if I liked it). Domande wh-: si mantiene la parola wh- e l’ordine affermativo (Where do you live? → he asked me where I lived – non “where did I live”).
Ordini e richieste
❗tell / ask + persona + to + infinito: Close the door! → she told me to close the door; Don’t shout! → he told us not to shout; Please help me → she asked me to help her.
